Rosslyn Jacob Edwards, Co-Chair


Rosslyn Jacob Edwards is Executive Director of Dance Ontario and has played a significant role in the dance sector for almost 30 years serving as General Manager for DanceWorks, and with the U.S./Canada Performance Initiative and The Canadian Network of Dance Presenters/CanDance.  She is committed to providing activities for a broad range of the organization’s membership as well as to strengthening the sector as a whole.  She moved to Canada following a liberal arts education and career in the public service and politics in the UK. Since 1969, she has held management positions of increasing responsibility in the theatre, visual arts and dance sectors including the SAW Gallery and Ottawa School of Art (Ottawa), Inner City Angels and DanceWorks (Toronto). Jacob Edwards served on the board of COBA, the Collective Of Black Artists, as an advisor to arts councils and independent dance artists, as a Dora Mavor Moore juror, and currently serves on the advisory committees of ArtsBuild Ontario and George Brown Performing Arts.

Bruce Pitkin, Co-Chair


Bruce Pitkin, Executive Director, is a trained theatre artist who has performed, directed, produced, and taught in Japan, Germany, the United States, and Canada. Since earning an MFA in Performance from York University, he has worked with the Tadashi Suzuki Company (Japan) and Shakespeare & Company (Boston). He was the Artistic Director at both the Acting Academy (Munich) and the International Michael Chekhov School of Acting (Munich), and has taught Shakespeare, Scene Study and Audition Technique at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto since 2007. In 2013, he was named in NOW Magazine’s Top Ten Artists to Watchfor his directing work. In addition to his extensive theatre background, his business experience in marketing and digital media has included working with such organizations as TeleFilm Canada, Canada Media Fund, Capital C Communications, Adeo Communications, Digital Media Studios, alleswirdgut—Agency for Creative Direction (Munich), Schaeffler und Partner Multimedia (Munich), BioID AG (Berlin) and Dialog Communication Systems (Taiwan).
